Illustrator michael hays explores his collaboration
with Steven Layne, Judy MacDonald and Pete Seeger.
Michael talks about working with Steven and Deborah Dover Layne to illustrate their picture book W is for Windy City (Sleeping Bear Press, 2010) and his partnership with Judy MacDonald to create the art for this Chicago alphabet book. Michael recalls collaborating with Pete Seeger on the picture book character Abiyoyo (Simon and Schuster, 1986). An image sequence of Abiyoyo's visual development is a highlight of Michael's school presentation.
